Engineering/Agricultural Buyer

Hartley People Recruitment are seeking an experienced Engineering or Agricultural Buyer on behalf of a leading manufacturing company based in Co. Carlow. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional to join a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and procure engineering components, materials, and services in line with production requirements
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are achieved
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier agreements
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production and planning teams
  • Raise purchase orders and manage supplier performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain and procurement function.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
