Hartley People Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a leading engineering services provider operating across Ireland and the UK. This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of complex projects within the pharmaceutical, industrial, power generation, and oil & gas sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitivetender submissions, liaising with clients and suppliers, and ensuring that all estimates meet technical and commercial requirements. This is a client-facing role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review specifications, drawings, and tender information, ensuring documentation is technically accurate and aligned with client requirements.
• Prepare and submit electrical tenders in a timely manner, finalising bids and attending pre-order meetings to secure contracts.
• Conduct site visits and client briefings, providing accurate interpretation of electrical specifications and project scope.
• Liaise with customers to review and confirm requirements, identifying upcharges and concessions as needed.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable costings.
• Collaborate with colleagues and project managers to hand over successful bids and support project start-up.
• Work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance with standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Estimator, or as an Electrical Engineer with proven estimating experience, ideally within large-scale contracting environments.
• Extensive knowledge of estimating practices and electrical systems across pharmaceutical, industrial, power generation, or oil & gas projects.
• Strong analytical and mathematical ability with excellent IT skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure.
• A track record of delivering accurate, competitive tenders and securing contracts.
• Flexibility to travel regularly between Ireland and the UK as required.
