A manufacturing organisation operating within a regulated pharmaceutical environment is seeking a Technical Support Specialist on a 12-month contract to support its maintenance and engineering function. This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment reliability, compliance, and effective spare-parts management across GMP operations.
Working closely with the Maintenance Coach and Engineering teams, the successful candidate will oversee Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activities, maintain system accuracy, and support maintenance planning through effective use of the site CMMS (SAP-PM).
This is a technically focused role combining systems ownership, data governance, and cross-functional coordination to support safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for MRO processes, systems, and related data.
- Own and continuously improve CMMS (SAP-PM) usage, ensuring consistent application in line with site and global standards.
- Support maintenance planning and scheduling across both GMP and non-GMP areas.
- Assist engineering and maintenance teams with asset reliability and system-driven maintenance activities.
- Create, maintain, and govern master data including spare parts, bills of materials, and obsolescence records.
- Produce detailed MRO and maintenance reports using SAP, Excel, and other digital tools.
- Support controlled documentation processes including change control, deviations, training records, and document retention.
- Ensure all maintenance-related activities align with cGMP, safety requirements, and internal governance standards.
- Participate in daily tier meetings, preparing and presenting system data and performance metrics.
- Support structured root cause analysis using recognised methodologies such as 5 Whys, FMEA, and Fishbone analysis.
- Assist with the implementation, tracking, and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Work closely with site engineering, maintenance, and global support teams to progress maintenance and MRO initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and the standardisation of maintenance processes.
- Support alignment between maintenance systems, operational requirements, and compliance expectations.
- Contribute to a strong safety, quality, and performance culture within the maintenance function.
- Carry out additional duties as required to support engineering and manufacturing operations.
