Senior Accountant

Are you an experienced practice accountant ready to take the next step in your career? We are recruiting a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing professional services practice in Kilkenny City. You will work closely with Partners and a multidisciplinary team, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients while playing a key role in practice growth and team development.

The Role

Reporting directly to a Partner, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio and contribute across client delivery, advisory work, and mentoring junior team members. This role offers early and ongoing client exposure and the chance to act as a trusted advisor to businesses across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review financial statements and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships, and companies
  • Manage and develop a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing practical, high-quality support to clients
  • Support, guide, and mentor junior members of the team
  • Work closely with Partners and colleagues to support practice growth
  • Ensure deadlines, compliance obligations, and quality standards are consistently met

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (CPA / ACCA / ACA)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a public practice environment
  • Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and contribute to team leadership
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Commercially aware with a client-first mindset
  • Motivated by continuous professional development and career progression
