Senior Accountant
We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Senior Accountant to join a growing, multi-site organisation. This is a key position within the finance team, offering the opportunity to shape financial reporting processes, strengthen controls, and contribute directly to business performance.
This role will suit a commercially minded accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic, evolving environment and is confident supporting operational teams while delivering accurate and timely financial information.
The Role
As Senior Accountant, you will support the financial operations of the organisation by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management accounts, overseeing reconciliations, and enhancing financial controls.
You will work closely with the Finance Team and report directly to the Financial Controller, with responsibility to deputise when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts
- Complete and maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain and develop the fixed asset register, including depreciation accounting
- Oversee stock accounting processes
- Review and monitor the nominal ledger
- Support and enhance internal financial controls
Operations & Collaboration
- Partner with finance colleagues on sales accounting processes
- Work closely with credit control to support cash flow management
- Support the Head of Finance with day-to-day queries and ad hoc analysis
- Collaborate with operational teams to improve financial processes and efficiencies
- Lead or support projects that drive operational and financial improvements
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate and oversee year-end processes
- Liaise with external auditors and manage audit queries
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professional integrity
About You
You are detail-oriented, commercially aware, and confident managing multiple priorities. You bring strong analytical capability and enjoy improving systems and processes in a growing organisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 4 years’ post-qualified experience in a similar role
- Strong working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office
- Experience in healthcare or a regulated environment is advantageous
- Data analytics and Power BI experience desirable
