Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are hiring for a Senior Design Engineer / Technical Design Lead in Kilkenny.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of both standard and bespoke product ranges. Working closely with production, sales, customer service, suppliers, and customers, you will help ensure products are practical, commercially viable, and manufactured to the highest standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in a Design Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
- Experience creating and managing complex 3D assemblies and Bills of Materials.
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including prototyping, testing, production, and quality assurance.
- Excellent technical drawing interpretation and measurement skills.
- Experience carrying out site measurements for bespoke or non-standard projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Practical understanding of product manufacture, assembly, and installation.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the bathroom, glazing, shower enclosure, construction, interiors, or architectural products sector.
- Experience working with bespoke or made-to-measure products.
- Knowledge of glass, aluminium profiles, hardware, fixings, or similar manufacturing materials.
- Experience using rendering software.
- Experience supporting new product development and product launches.
- Previous experience in a senior, lead, or supervisory technical position.
