Social Care Worker

Hartley People Recruitment, in partnership with our client, are seeking a Social Care Worker to join a residential and day service within the social care sector. This is a rewarding opportunity for a caring and dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Promote and uphold the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of each person supported.
  • Support individuals in daily living activities including personal care, household management, and community engagement.
  • Develop and implement individualised care and support plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Act as a key worker and ensure person-centred plans are effectively delivered and regularly reviewed.
  • Support individuals to access education, employment, leisure, and social opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepover or waking night duties as required.

The Requirements

  • Minimum Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in Social Care or a related Health/Social Care field.
  • At least one year’s experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities or vulnerable adults.
  • Knowledge of current social care legislation, HIQA standards, and best practice in disability services.
  • Understanding of person-centred planning, safeguarding, and positive behaviour support.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Competence in household management and creating a supportive environment.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive service vehicles.
  • Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and overnights.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equality, inclusion, and continuous professional development.
