Hartley People Recruitment, in partnership with our client, are seeking a Social Care Worker to join a residential and day service within the social care sector. The Role
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Promote and uphold the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of each person supported.
- Support individuals in daily living activities including personal care, household management, and community engagement.
- Develop and implement individualised care and support plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Act as a key worker and ensure person-centred plans are effectively delivered and regularly reviewed.
- Support individuals to access education, employment, leisure, and social opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development.
- Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleepover or waking night duties as required.
The Requirements
- Minimum Level 7 qualification (or equivalent) in Social Care or a related Health/Social Care field.
- At least one year’s experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities or vulnerable adults.
- Knowledge of current social care legislation, HIQA standards, and best practice in disability services.
- Understanding of person-centred planning, safeguarding, and positive behaviour support.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively.
- Competence in household management and creating a supportive environment.
- Full driving licence and willingness to drive service vehicles.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and overnights.
- Demonstrated commitment to equality, inclusion, and continuous professional development.
