Welder/Fabricator
Location: Wexford Town
Hartley People Recruitment is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator for a long-established engineering facility in Wexford Town.
The role involves producing high quality stainless-steel and mild-steel components for a range of architectural, industrial, and commercial applications. This position offers stable, long-term work within a modern workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Work from detailed fabrication drawings to manufacture stainless-steel and mild-steel components.
- Carry out welding using MIG and TIG processes, ensuring strong, clean, and accurate welds.
- Fabricate and assemble items such as frames, housings, enclosures, handrails, brackets, and bespoke architectural components.
- Operate standard workshop equipment including press brakes, guillotines, band saws, pillar drills, grinders, and plasma cutters.
- Perform quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure dimensional accuracy and a high-quality finish.
- Collaborate with production and installation teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working area.
Requirements
- 2–3 years’ experience in a steel fabrication or welding role.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and fabricate components with precision.
- Proficiency in MIG welding; TIG welding experience is a distinct advantage.
- Experience working with stainless steel as well as mild steel in a workshop/manufacturing setting.
- Confident using fabrication tools, workshop machinery, and measuring equipment.
- Ability to work on custom-built, one-off pieces with strong attention to detail.
- A relevant trade qualification in metal fabrication or welding is desirable.
- Good teamwork, communication skills, and a positive, reliable work ethic.
