Plant Fitter / Mechanic (Engines & Diagnostics)

Overview
Hartley People Recruitment is seeking a Plant Fitter / Mechanic to join a well-established operation in Dublin.
This role is focused on the maintenance, repair and diagnostics of plant equipment, with a strong emphasis on diesel engines, pumps and generation equipment. The successful candidate will be hands-on, with proven experience in fault finding, engine repair and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair and service diesel engines and plant equipment
- Carry out fault finding across mechanical and basic electrical systems
- Perform engine repairs, rebuilds and component replacement
- Maintain and repair pumps, generators and associated equipment
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out effective repairs
- Ensure all work is completed to high safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Requirements
Essential
- Qualified Plant Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or Agricultural Mechanic
- Proven experience in engine diagnostics and repair
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Experience working on plant equipment, pumps or generators
- Strong fault-finding ability
Desirable
- Experience with generation or pump systems
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools/software
- Experience in field service or breakdown repair
