Hartley People Recruitment are seeking a permanent Manager – Process/Projects Engineer for a high-tech flavour manufacturing and innovation facility in Wexford.
This senior role sits within the Engineering Group and leads capital projects, process optimisation, scale-up and manufacturing support in an Upper Tier Seveso environment. The successful candidate will act as site process SME and play a key role in safety, efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
Key Focus Areas
- Process Safety leadership within an Upper Tier Seveso site
• Flavour manufacturing (separation, filtration, blending)
• Process development & scale-up
• Sustainability and utility optimisation
Responsibilities
- Develop and cost technical proposals for site capital plans
• Lead capital projects on time and within budget using structured PM methods
• Manage engineering consultancies and contractors across full project lifecycle
• Support technology transfer between manufacturing sites
• Drive cross-functional process improvement (quality, productivity, cost)
• Provide process support to operations and technical teams
• Identify future process enhancement opportunities and investment needs
• Lead Management of Change (MOC) in line with safety and compliance standards
• Liaise with regulatory bodies when required
• Maintain and control engineering documentation
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Process or Chemical Engineering
• 10+ years in high-volume regulated manufacturing (food, pharma, beverage, healthcare)
• Proven leadership of large-scale capital projects and budgets
• Experience managing design & construction contracts in process industries
• Strong troubleshooting of plant, layouts, equipment & controls
• Automation & instrumentation expertise (PLC, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet)
• Knowledge of electrical installation standards
• Strong project management capability
• Full regulatory awareness: CDM, ATEX, Pressure, Permits, HAZOP, COMAH, Seveso, Electrical
• Experience delivering change in high process safety environments
• Excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills
