Overview

Hartley People Recruitment is seeking a qualified Electrician to join a highly automated manufacturing operation in Clonmel.

This position will suit an electrically biased maintenance professional who enjoys fault finding, troubleshooting and supporting production equipment within a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, supporting continuous production and contributing to ongoing improvement projects across the facility.

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern and offers exposure to modern equipment, ongoing training and a clean, well-maintained production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and work closely with the maintenance team to identify and resolve electrical faults
  • Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and repairs where required to support overall plant performance
  • Carry out preventative maintenance activities in line with planned maintenance schedules
  • Complete routine inspections, testing and equipment checks across production areas
  • Support machinery upgrades, improvement projects and installation activities throughout the facility
  • Maximise equipment uptime through effective fault diagnosis and corrective action
  • Monitor system performance and carry out operational checks as required
  • Record spare parts usage and communicate stock requirements to ensure critical components remain available
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and documentation
  • Provide regular updates on breakdowns, projects and maintenance activities to management
  • Support commissioning, startup and testing of new equipment and systems
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety, hygiene and site compliance requirements
  • Participate in training and development activities to maintain current technical knowledge
  • Provide engineering support in line with operational requirements across the site

Requirements

Essential

  • Qualified Electrician with relevant trade certification
  • Previous experience within an industrial, manufacturing or production environment
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience working with automated production equipment and machinery
  • Good understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

Desirable

  • Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment
  • Experience with control panels or panel building
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and associated control systems
  • Experience within food, beverage or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems and maintenance planning activities

Working Hours

• Rotating shift cycle Monday to Friday

o Days: 6:00am – 2:00pm

o Evenings: 2:00pm – 10:00pm

o Nights: 10:00pm – 6:00am
