Domestic Electrician

Hartley People Recruitment is seeking a Domestic Electrician on behalf of our client, a well-established electrical services provider specialising in residential work across Waterford County.
This is a customer-facing, hands-on role suited to a qualified electrician with strong practical experience in domestic electrical systems including rewiring, lighting, consumer units, car chargers, solar systems, and heat pumps, and fault diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades in occupied and unoccupied domestic properties.
- Install and commission home EV (car) chargers, solar panel electrical systems, and heat pump connections.
- Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and resolution of electrical issues in residential settings.
- Install and test sockets, lighting, circuit breakers, and other home electrical components in compliance with current regulations.
- Conduct EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) and provide reports for homeowner certification.
- Replace or upgrade consumer units (fuse boards) to meet current safety standards.
- Ensure all work meets the requirements of Safe Electric and relevant building regulations.
- Maintain professional customer interaction, providing clear explanations and recommendations to homeowners.
Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified Electrician – registered with Safe Electric.
- 3+ years’ experience in residential/domestic electrical work.
- Experience in installing EV chargers, solar PV system electrics, and heat pump wiring is a distinct advantage
- Strong knowledge of domestic wiring regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with fault finding, heating controls, electric showers, lighting circuits, and testing equipment.
- Full clean driving licence – company van provided.
