Site Engineer – South East (Full-Time / Permanent)

Overview

A leading construction company is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of residential and commercial construction projects across the South East.

This role will play a key part in ensuring works are completed in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, programme requirements and health & safety regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with site management, subcontractors and design teams to support the efficient delivery of projects from groundworks through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out setting out duties and ensure accurate positioning of structures in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Establish site levels, gridlines and benchmarks using surveying equipment
  • Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Conduct site surveys, measurements and levelling activities as required
  • Support quality assurance processes and ensure standards are maintained throughout construction
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment and promote compliance with health & safety procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site teams and subcontractors
  • Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information
  • Liaise with Site Managers, subcontractors, consultants and design teams to support project delivery
  • Maintain site records including daily reports, progress updates and as-built information
  • Identify and resolve technical issues arising during construction activities
  • Assist with materials coordination and ensure materials meet project specifications

Requirements

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Previous experience in a Site Engineer position within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and site operations
  • Experience using setting out equipment including total stations, GPS and levelling equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of health & safety requirements within construction environments
  • Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a site-based project team
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
