Site Engineer – South East (Full-Time / Permanent)
Overview
A leading construction company is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of residential and commercial construction projects across the South East.
This role will play a key part in ensuring works are completed in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, programme requirements and health & safety regulations. The successful candidate will work closely with site management, subcontractors and design teams to support the efficient delivery of projects from groundworks through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out duties and ensure accurate positioning of structures in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Establish site levels, gridlines and benchmarks using surveying equipment
- Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Conduct site surveys, measurements and levelling activities as required
- Support quality assurance processes and ensure standards are maintained throughout construction
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment and promote compliance with health & safety procedures
- Provide technical guidance and support to site teams and subcontractors
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical information
- Liaise with Site Managers, subcontractors, consultants and design teams to support project delivery
- Maintain site records including daily reports, progress updates and as-built information
- Identify and resolve technical issues arising during construction activities
- Assist with materials coordination and ensure materials meet project specifications
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a Site Engineer position within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and site operations
- Experience using setting out equipment including total stations, GPS and levelling equipment
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of health & safety requirements within construction environments
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site-based project team
- High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality
