Hartley People Recruitment on behalf of our client in the food retail industry are seeking Butchers Nationwide.

This role serves a vital function in the protein department ensuring best practice, standards of quality and hygiene are met. The successful candidate will ensure to always go the extra mile with customers.

The Job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Protein Manager in day-to-day operations of the butcher counter, including serving customers, monitoring quality and preparing protein products for sale and set up/close down of counters
  • Ensure integrity and quality of products displayed in counters
  • Cut, prepare and serve all protein products according to best practice procedures
  • Assist with stock control, rotation and quality checks
  • Maintain daily legal records
  • Operate on the clean as you go policy, and deep clean as required
  • Participate with training and development within the store

The Person

Competencies:

  • Qualified butcher (preferably)
  • 4 years of experience within a butchery department (desirable)
  • Knowledge of food, health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
