Production Manager

Hartley People Recruitment are seeking a Production Manager to join our clients expanding business based in Naas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive company at an exciting growth phase.

No weekends, evenings or shift work.

The Role:

  • Manage production facility performance, optimising efficiencies and labour utilisation.
  • Ensure compliance with company, customer, and legal requirements for Food safety and Quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance to address identified issues and escalate to Factory Manager if needed.
  • Chair daily production meetings with area supervisors, maintenance, quality, and material supply teams.
  • Optimize production parameters for consistent, high-quality product output.
  • Monitor and control costs to stay within budget limits.
  • Implement Lean and continuous improvement practices in all processes.
  • Oversee attendance, timekeeping, overtime, annual leave, and payroll.
  • Conduct employee appraisals, probationary reviews, and ongoing performance management.
  • Handle employee issues and disciplinary matters with Factory Manager / HR department.
  • Focus on energy and waste conservation/management.
  • Propose new initiatives for process improvement, develop SOPs, and training matrices as required.
  • Aim for zero-wastage in ingredient and finished product handling to minimize risks to the business.

The Person:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading team in a similar role/environment
  • Strong business knowledge in fast moving manufacturing business
  • Project Management experience essential
  • Proven track record in team development and management essential
  • Lead team-based problem-solving efforts.
  • Possess good understanding of processes, variables, and basic engineering.
  • Show experience in labour loading, efficiency, and capacity measurements.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles effectively.
  • Motivate and lead all direct teams, taking responsibility for operations.
  • Proficient in planning activities and projects using effective planning tools.
