Metal Fabricator
Location: Waterford
Hartley People Recruitment is seeking a Steel Fabricator on behalf of our client, a well-established mechanical engineering and fabrication company based in Waterford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabricator to join a close-knit team delivering high-quality fabrication and mechanical engineering solutions across commercial and industrial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret fabrication drawings and engineering specifications accurately.
• Cut, form, weld, and assemble steel components using MIG, TIG, and arc welding methods.
• Fabricate structural and bespoke steelwork to required standards and tolerances.
• Operate workshop machinery including saws, grinders, drills, and cutting equipment.
• Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets required finish and specification standards.
• Work closely with workshop and engineering teams to support project delivery timelines.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment in line with health & safety procedures.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a fabrication or mechanical workshop environment.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, with the ability to fabricate from engineering drawings.
• Experience working with mild steel and stainless steel.
• Strong understanding of fabrication tools, workshop equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work accurately on both standard and bespoke fabrication projects.
• Trade qualification in fabrication, welding, or a related discipline is desirable.
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a small team environment.
