HV Electrician
Location: Waterford
Contract: Full-time, permanent
An established engineering services provider is seeking HV Substation Electricians to join its growing team within the substation division.
The role involves the installation and maintenance of HV electrical infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out substation installation works in line with safety rules and company procedures.
- Install AIS & GIS HV/LV switchgear, transformers, cabling, control and protection systems, metering, lighting, and power cabling.
- Support the connection of mobile generators and erection of steelwork for MV/HV equipment.
- Work to project programmes and provide input to supervisors on procurement requirements.
- Assist commissioning activities where required.
- Ensure compliance with all HSQE policies, SOPs, and permit-to-work systems.
- Report incidents or near misses promptly and contribute to a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in HV electrical installation.
- National craft certificate / time-served electrician qualification.
- Knowledge of ESB standards desirable.
- Valid Safe Pass card.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
