BIM Coordinator

BIM Coordinator

Location: Fully Remote within Ireland
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Hartley People Recruitment is seeking an experienced BIM Coordinator on behalf of a specialist Irish BIM consultancy supporting technically complex construction projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

This is primarily a BIM coordination position rather than a Revit modelling role. The successful candidate will take responsibility for multidisciplinary model coordination, Navisworks clash detection, issue management and coordination reporting. A strong working knowledge of Revit is required, but regular model production will not be the main focus of the position.

Relevant experience on data-centre or similarly complex MEP-intensive projects is particularly important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate architectural, structural, civil and MEP models across complex construction projects.
  • Create, manage and review clash-detection tests using Navisworks Manage.
  • Identify clashes, missing information and coordination risks, prioritising issues and tracking them through to closure.
  • Review models with consideration for buildability, access, maintenance requirements, installation sequencing and programme.
  • Federate multidisciplinary models and support structured model exchanges.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings and clearly present technical issues, actions and proposed resolutions.
  • Prepare coordination reports, meeting notes, action trackers and project updates.
  • Communicate directly with designers, contractors, specialist subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Review project models and information against agreed BIM requirements, standards and workflows.
  • Use Revit to review, interrogate and make limited amendments to models where required.
  • Support information exchange and issue management through Autodesk Construction Cloud or similar platforms.
  • Raise technical concerns early and take ownership of assigned actions and deadlines.

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Previous BIM coordination experience within construction, engineering or architecture.
  • Strong practical experience using Navisworks Manage, including clash detection, clash grouping, issue tracking and reporting.
  • Relevant experience supporting data-centre projects or similarly complex, services-heavy construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination across architectural, structural, civil and MEP models.
  • Working knowledge of Revit, with the ability to review, interrogate and amend models when necessary.
  • Practical understanding of construction sequencing, buildability and site coordination.
  • Experience preparing clear coordination reports and managing technical actions through to completion.
  • Familiarity with structured BIM and information-management processes.
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 19650
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and remain responsive within a fully remote environment.
  • Must be currently based in the Republic of Ireland.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience leading or chairing multidisciplinary BIM coordination meetings.
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate Pro or similar issue-management platform experience.
  • Site-based construction or installation coordination experience.
  • Exposure to 4D coordination, programming or construction sequencing.
  • Experience coordinating specialist MEP contractors and subcontractors.
  • Experience supporting projects from design coordination through construction delivery.
