Site Foreman – Daycare Centre Project

Hartley People Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Site Foreman for a well-established building contractor delivering a new daycare centre in Wicklow. The successful candidate will be based on this project for the duration of the build and will remain with the company on future projects. This is a permanent, long-term role within a stable and active construction business focused on community, education and healthcare-type buildings.
The Site Foreman will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard of quality. This role suits a foreman who is comfortable leading multiple trades, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining programme targets on a live, safety-critical building with tight finishing and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site activities in line with drawings, specifications and programme.
- Supervise subcontractors and direct labour, coordinating trades to maintain sequencing and productivity.
- Plan and allocate daily and weekly tasks to meet programme milestones.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
- Enforce health & safety standards and ensure compliance with statutory and company requirements.
- Liaise with engineers, site management and subcontractors to resolve technical or sequencing issues.
- Keep accurate site records, including daily diaries and progress updates.
- Assist with inspections, snagging and close-out works as the project progresses.
- Act as the main point of control on site, escalating issues when required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Foreman or in a senior site supervisory role.
- Background in general building with experience coordinating multiple trades.
- Ability to read and work from construction drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of site sequencing, quality standards and programme delivery.
- Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety requirements.
- Safe Pass and relevant CSCS tickets.
- Practical, solutions-focused approach with strong leadership and organisation skills.
