Hartley People Recruitment are working closely with one of our long-standing clients to fill the position of a Traffic Management Planner. The successful candidate will operate responsibly and transparently, placing great emphasis on developing strong, long-term partnerships with their clients. Our client currently provide Nationwide Traffic Management services to some of the country’s leading infrastructure development companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analysing existing traffic patterns, congestion points, and accident data to identify areas in need of improvement.
- Designing and specifying the placement of traffic control devices, such as traffic signals, stop signs, and pedestrian crossings, to manage and optimize traffic flow.
- Roadway Design: Planning and designing roadways and roundabouts to facilitate smoother traffic movement and reduce bottlenecks.
- Designing signage and pavement markings to guide drivers and pedestrians and communicate important information about the road.
- Developing and optimising the timing of traffic signals to minimize wait times and reduce congestion.
- Creating detailed plans for managing traffic during construction projects, special events, or emergencies to ensure safety and minimize disruptions.
- Integrating public transportation systems, such as buses and trains, into the overall traffic management strategy.
- Using specialised software to simulate and model traffic behaviour and evaluate the effectiveness of proposed traffic management solutions.
- Implementing safety measures, such as pedestrian crosswalks, speed limits, and safety barriers, to protect both drivers and pedestrians.
- Ensuring that all traffic management designs and strategies comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Working closely with transportation engineers, urban planners, and other professionals to create integrated solutions for managing traffic.
- Analysing data related to traffic management to make informed decisions and adjust strategies as needed.
*Successful candidates must have the Traffic Management designer course completed*
