Customs Clerk

Due to continued expansion at Rosslare Europort my client is seeking to grow their Customs team with the addition of a Customs and Compliance Clerk.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their career with support from other members of the senior management team.

This is a remote position but you can work out of our new Rosslare Europort Branch if required.

The Customs Clerk will be responsible for the daily processing of customs clearance SADS & CHEDS and other related documents to ensure the timely and compete process of customs is undertaken.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with over sea Agents & clients in a remote setting.
  • Provide Customs subject matter.
  • Practical support in the preparation and submission of more complex declarations.
  • Review Customs transactions in the THYME IT system and Customs billing reconciliation monthly.
  • Raise invoices for customs activity and submit these with back up to Clients
  • Completing and validating Customs compliant documentation.
  • Updating internal system regarding Customs related matters. (AEO)
  • Oversee Customs Compliance by maintaining and update a system of control governance.
  • Liaising with carriers & customers for shipping information & documentation.
  • Support the operations team in gathering information on other customs related subject.
  • Support in reconciliation of monthly Duty deferment account.
  • Build relationship with Customs platform software providers ensuring operating environment is always the latest version.
  • Develop KPI set to measure Customs clearance performance and benchmark against best-in class peer group.
  • Creating invoices for month end billing for customers.
  • Complete reporting customer & Revenue.
  • Interface with Carriers and Information providers to ensure all required information is received.
  • Provide completed Customs documentation to Customer.
  • Assist in Customer documentation testing where applicable.
  • Assist in other functions within Operations on a project basis, when/if required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year in a Customs team.
  • Experience working in a Team environment. .
  • Excellent organisational skills and capable of working at a fast pace
  • Strong PC Skills such as Excel / Word & PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to learn and accept responsibility
  • Customer Focused
  • Team focused
  • Curious, motivated and and ability to work on your own initiative
  • Excellent communication and administration skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to multi task in a fast-paced busy working environment
