Trader(Entry level) – Waterford City.

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for finance and a desire to navigate the dynamic world of trading?

Hartley People is recruiting for a Trading/Brokerage company operating in the primary and secondary protein sector and based out of Waterford, Ireland. It trades internationally, primarily in pork, beef, lamb, poultry and fish products — to the Processing and Food Service sectors. The Company is seeking to fill the role of Trader.

Nature of Work:

Reporting primarily to the Business Manager. Tasks are as follows but not limited to:

• The core nature of employment will be the buying and selling of meats and other foodstuffs and other commodities as deemed commercially acceptable by management on an ongoing basis.
• Making and maintaining direct communication with both Suppliers and Clients, mainly by telephone and email.
• Maintaining the ancillary administration associated with such trades.
• Travel to Clients premises and Trade shows
• Duties will be varied and of a nature which will require a great deal of initiative and responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualifications in Food science/Food Technology/Business development/Marketing or related principles is advantageous but not a necessity.
• A working knowledge of BRC standards, HACCP, Food Legislation is advantageous but not critical.
• Previous work experience/placement in a food production environment is desirable. Previous work experience/placement in a sales or trading environment is also desirable.
