Strategic Programmes Manager.

Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are currently recruiting a Strategic Programmes Manager in Kilkenny offering a hybrid working option.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the comprehensive execution of various strategic programs and projects.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects within agreed-upon timelines and budgets, while aligning deliverables with the underlying business case.
  • Lead and guide project teams from concept and initiation through planning, execution, and transition to Business as Usual (BAU) until closure.
  • Place special emphasis on establishing appropriate governance structures and reporting on program/project milestones and deliverables.
  • Proactively identify key performance metrics to manage the project and enforce a rigorous series of interim checkpoints to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and manage project plans, ensuring active involvement and consensus from all functional groups.
  • Grasp the perspectives and requirements of various stakeholders.
  • Proactively assess project issues and facilitate mitigation plans to ensure success.
  • Present regular status updates and report potential issues and mitigation plans to the steering group.
  • Efficiently allocate resources across different projects.
  • Analyze industry trends and best practices to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with both internal and external teams for project-related tasks.
  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Identify opportunities for organizational improvements and development.

Requirements

  • Hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Possess a commercial focus with a track record of successfully managing complex programs/projects that drive significant business transformation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to serve as both a business change manager and project manager.
  • Possess deep knowledge and practical experience in best-practice project management methods; PMP certification is desirable.
  • Have experience managing projects in a balanced matrix organizational structure.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in stakeholder management, leading cross-functional teams across diverse Business Units in a global context.
  • Be proficient in managing third-party consultants throughout project implementation.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Have experience managing project budgets and adhering to financial constraints.
  • Display a high degree of professionalism when interacting with senior management.
  • Be an enthusiastic and motivated team player.
  • Feel comfortable working in an adaptive role and guiding others through change management activities.
