Hartley People Recruitment are seeking an R&D Technologist for a 12-month contract for our client based in Kilkenny.
Key Requirements:
- Conduct lab and benchtop experiments to evaluate concepts and ideas for new products, or changes in product formulations or manufacturing process;
- Sourcing raw material where applicable to new product development, working with external companies;
- Assist, interpret and conduct pilot plant trials in compliance with all R&D procedures;
- Review product and process trials against objectives and report to stakeholders on outcomes and next steps promptly;
- Conduct shelf life and sensory analysis for trial product in an organised and timely manner, reporting results to the project team;
- Scale up of pilot plant processes to factory adhering to all quality, regulatory & compliance procedures;
- Conduct factory trials in compliance with site quality and safety procedures;
- Capturing all the data for the purpose of product development, documentation, project report preparation and project presentations to project team or wider stakeholders;
- Liaise with cross-functional teams, supporting operations, quality or commercial teams, to solve problems which may arise for current or new product developments;
- Build relationships and work closely with international based teams as required;
- Liaise with external labs or other services to meet project objectives as required;
Key Requirements:
- A Food Science or Science based qualification.
- Previous NPD/R&D or operational experience in the dairy or food industry.
- A good understanding of food manufacturing and processing.
- Experience of delivering R&D or process improvement projects desirable.
