Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all aspects of our food production facility. This role requires excellent organizational skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional results. The Assistant Operations Manager will play a critical role in maintaining and improving operational processes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:

Assist the Operations Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating production activities to meet production targets and deadlines.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of products.

Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Support the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality and adherence to food safety regulations.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify any operational issues or potential hazards, and take corrective actions as necessary.

Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of production staff to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure the availability of raw materials and packaging supplies, while optimizing inventory levels.

Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing methodologies, to drive operational excellence.

Prepare reports and presentations on operational performance, including production output, efficiency, and cost analysis, for management review.

Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
Qualifications:

Relevant education and or professional development

3 years of experience in a food production or manufacturing environment, with a focus on operations management.

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems.

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in using productivity software and systems, such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and production planning tools.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is preferred.
