Hartley People Recruitment are seeking a Controls Project Manager to join our client in Waterford.
This is a full-time permanent role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of four software engineers, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.
- Foster a culture of motivation and inspiration within the team, encouraging continuous learning and development.
- Ensure alignment of the team’s commitments and deliveries with company goals.
- Analyse data to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or modifications to existing systems.
- Manage the software development lifecycle, overseeing project development, design, build, and documentation.
- Monitor system performance and oversee testing and troubleshooting of new software.
- Communicate key project data to team members, fostering cohesion among mechanical and electrical engineers.
- Develop and direct software system validation and testing methods.
- Collaborate closely with clients and cross-functional departments, providing project updates and proposals.
- Monitor and address skill gaps within the team by providing necessary expertise.
- Apply best practices, problem-solving initiatives, and standard operating procedures.
- Create innovative solutions to meet the company’s technical needs and shape the future of our systems.
- Develop and execute project plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior Software Engineer role within a software company, with the ability to independently design, write code, and deliver software.
- Proven track record of at least 2 years in managing, motivating, and mentoring teams of developers/engineers.
- Experience with Beckhoff PLC programming is a distinct advantage.
- Hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Excellent knowledge of modern development technologies and tools.
- Strong communication and management engagement skills.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong desire and ability to mentor engineers at all levels.
- Passionate about software development and building strong engineering teams.
- Experienced Project Manager committed to delivering excellent work with exceptional people.
- Aptitude for learning and troubleshooting complex projects, combining engineering and software development principles.
- Expertise in writing units, integration, systems, and performance tests.
- Enthusiastic about taking on new challenges and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively, with a proactive “can-do” approach to teamwork.
