Hartley People are seeking to hire a HR & Payroll Specialist at Manufacturing & Retail company, you will be responsible for providing hands-on support and HR business partnering services. You will support employees and managers for group and local HR processes, policies, practices, programs, and activities. Additionally, you will assist employees with benefits and other inquiries, including payroll, and ensure that HR administrative activities are completed on time, according to established standards. You will be the local superuser for Workday, our HCM system, providing support for employees and managers to ensure data accuracy and the capability for manager self-service. As an advocate for company values, you will work with the local and matrix teams to promote the required culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide relevant HR business partnering support.
- Manage employee relations and advocate for employees by establishing good workforce relationships.
- Manage the payroll process and provide cover for UK Payroll.
- Ensure that human resources records are accurate and up to date.
- Participate weekly in the UK & Ireland HR meetings, as well as the global HR calls and any other applicable calls.
- Support and promote company values and the required culture.
- Ensure that all legislative and regulatory requirements are met.
- Manage the HR and office budgets.
Administration:
- Manage/process HR invoices.
- Create contractual terms of business against company standards.
- Administer benefits (pension, life assurance, etc.)
- Office/retail Health & Safety checks and compliance.
- Produce contracts and other documentation as required.
- Office administration/housekeeping where applicable.
Day-to-day HR operations:
- Weekly/monthly payroll processing
- Serve as the country superuser for Workday. Conduct regular trainings and work one-on-one with managers and employees to ensure Workday is being utilized fully by all.
- Recruitment activities (to include retail stores). Provide Workday reports as required.
- Ensure onboarding/inductions and exit interviews are carried out.
- Support learning and development, following country requirements and group guidance.
- Performance management support as per the HR clock, including talent reviews, development plans, identifying opportunities and skills gaps.
- Support pieces of training such as Code of Conduct, Safety, GDPR, and others as required.
- Provide advice to staff and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, guidelines, and documentation.
- Continually strive to make improvements to processes, etc.
- Support the global digital people platform for the country.
- Manage annual pay reviews.
- Manage the relationship with related union.
- Employee relations support with discipline and grievance processes
- Co-ordinate absence management, including return to work interviews.
- Responsible for supporting restructuring programs.
- Being an advocate for H&S
- Organization of social events and well-being activities
- Ad hoc projects, including global matrix projects.

- Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Qualifications:
- Relevant HR qualification
- A payroll qualification would be an advantage; however, experience is key
- Previous experience of administration within an HR department
- Previous experience of managing payroll administration and a working knowledge of Irish pay legislation
- Strong MS Office skills
- Exposure to Workday would be desirable.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and benefits
- Knowledge of employment legislation
- Experience of working in a global matrix would be advantageous.
- Previous experience of working in a unionized environment would be beneficial.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
