Hartley People Recruitment are seeking an EHSS Engineer for our clients Medical Device Manufacturing company based in Wexford.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to the companies core values and all applicable safety, environmental, security, and quality regulations and standards. This includes complying with QMS, Safety, Environmental, and Security Management Systems, FDA regulations, company policies, operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Be the SME on EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, and Security) matters within a manufacturing environment. This expertise covers areas such as associate safety, environmental protection, property protection, process and equipment safety, and security.
- Strategy Implementation: Responsible for implementing a site-specific EHSS strategy. This involves initiating policies, programs, and initiatives to ensure EHSS compliance and achieve EHSS goals within the organization.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Continuously monitor and evaluate the impact of new laws, regulations, and industry standards related to EHSS. Staying informed about changing requirements is crucial.
- Record Keeping: Ensure that all required records, permits, and reports are maintained and prepared in accordance with established guidelines by local, state, and federal agencies.
- Injury Management: Manage the investigation of work-related injuries and collaborate with Human Resources on workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
- Emergency Response Leadership: Lead and train the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to be proficient in various critical areas such as hazmat handling, incipient fire response, medical emergencies, and other potential emergency scenarios.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree EHS, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Science or other EHS field.
- Minimum Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of site specific regulations and standards such as lasers, radiation, process safety, emergency response, permitting, ergonomics, and worker’s compensation.
- Certifications preferred: First Aid, CPR, AED
