Metrology Engineer

Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are seeking a highly motivated Metrology Engineer to join their expanding team in the Waterford area. Within this role the successful candidate will work on real projects that directly impact people’s lives, and you’ll be surrounded by a team of friendly, experienced experts. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop CMM (PC DIMS) and Vision Systems (OGP / MITUTOYO) programs.
  2. Prepare FIA/OQ/PQ reports for new product introductions and maintain master samples.
  3. Conduct capabilities of GR&R studies.
  4. Identify and support the implementation of new jigs and fixtures required for new product introduction.
  5. Assist QE’s and new product introduction efforts.
  6. Support continuous improvement projects.
  7. Conduct root cause investigations for non-conforming products.
  8. Handle equipment calibration and maintain calibration schedules and records.
  9. Support company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  10. Ensure ongoing compliance with GMP in all practices and processes.
  11. Comply with all GMP training requirements.
  12. Undertake any additional responsibilities as needed, considering company evolution and department/position requirements.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Efficiently engage with and contribute to the metrology and new product introduction teams.
  2. Provide support for all metrology activities related to new product introductions.
  3. Demonstrate expertise, propose process improvements, and act as a point of contact within Metrology.

Job Specification:

  1. Degree in Engineering/Science, preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing discipline.
  2. At least 3 years of experience in a quality/metrology engineering role.
  3. Full competence in quality management standards.
  4. Ability to work well in a team environment.
  5. Excellent organizational, communication, computer, and presentation skills.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with Mini Tab, OGP Smart Scope, and PC DIMS is desirable.
  7. Performance and results-driven mindset.
