Hartley people are working closely with our client to hire a Facilities Engineer based in Wexford County.

As a member of the FMW Engineering Group, we are currently seeking a permanent Facilities Engineer to join our manufacturing and innovation facility.

Job Objective: The Facilities Engineer will play a crucial role in managing plant and facility systems, maintenance, projects, improvement initiatives, service contracts, and support activities across different areas of our facility. This position will serve as the subject matter expert for utilities within the facility. The successful candidate will contribute to our mission of sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Site’s transition to sustainable practices.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical project proposals, including budgets, for inclusion in site capital plans, ensuring feasibility and justifiability.
  • Manage project implementation, ensuring timely completion within budget, while leading multi-disciplinary project teams and utilizing structured project management approaches.
  • Oversee external engineering consultancy companies and contracting firms through design and construction phases of capital projects, including scope development, tendering/negotiation, contract award, and performance monitoring.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional improvement teams to enhance facility effectiveness in areas such as quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Collaborate with Facility, R&D, Process Development, and scale-up teams as necessary.
  • Work with operations, technical, and engineering teams to develop future operations, process improvements, and capital expenditure requirements with strong business justifications.
  • Ensure change activities comply with Company and industry quality/engineering standards.
  • Interact with government agencies and regulatory personnel as needed.
  • Manage and maintain engineering documentation, keeping it up-to-date and aligned with Company programs while ensuring the protection of all Company information and property.
  • Execute assigned tasks, analyses, and special projects.
  • Support Company programs and foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Safeguard and protect all Company information and property.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Services, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, demonstrating continuous professional development and progressive responsibilities.
  • Preferably more than 3 years of experience in the building services/process industry, including project leadership and technical support.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects within a highly automated environment.
  • Strong ability to lead capital projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of modern facility technologies related to heating, cooling, and lighting.
  • Proficient in using engineering principles to troubleshoot existing plant operations.
  • Project management skills with the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, electrical, P&ID, logical, isometric, facility, and equipment layout drawings and diagrams.
  • Excellent understanding of safety legislation, safety standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with engineering validations, including a solid understanding of relevant regulations and validation processes.
