Working with our well known client, Hartley People are seeking to recruit a Foreman for their Waterford/South Tipperary projects
The Finishing Foreman plays a crucial role in overseeing the final phases of construction projects, ensuring that all finishing touches are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and timeliness. This position requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, exceptional leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. The Finishing Foreman collaborates with various teams to ensure that the project’s completion meets or exceeds client expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control: Ensure that all finishing work, including carpentry, painting, and installation, adheres to project specifications and quality standards.
Site Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors and laborers in the finishing phase, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Scheduling: Develop and maintain a detailed schedule for finishing activities, taking into account project milestones and deadlines.
Materials and Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the procurement and use of finishing materials, ensuring availability and proper storage.
Problem Resolution: Address and resolve on-site issues, changes, and discrepancies swiftly to prevent delays and maintain project progress.
Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and health hazards on the construction site.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records, such as daily reports, inspection logs, and project progress reports.
Client Communication: Communicate with clients and project stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction with the finishing work.
Quality Assurance: Perform regular inspections and quality checks to guarantee that all finishing work meets quality and design expectations.
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and provide guidance to the finishing team to maximize productivity and quality.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in construction management is a plus).
Experience:
Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman or similar role in the construction industry.
A strong background in finishing work, such as carpentry, painting, and interior installations.
Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for quality.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Proficient in reading construction blueprints and specifications.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations.
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
